VALERIE "JOY" RENNIE Peacefully, after a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer, Joy Rennie passed away on January 10, 2004 at the Riverview Health Centre at the age of 69. Her memory will be cherished by her loving husband David of 47 years; children, Jim (Chrys), Michael (Linda), Valerie, and Jennifer; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild; sisters, Zella (Jon), Dorothy (Doug), and Lori (Floyd) mother-in-law Guen Rennie; as well as numerous other relatives and friends. Joy worked for many years for the Winnipeg Pediatric Dental Group as Office Manager, and prior to that was the Executive Director for the Manitoba Horse Council. Joy loved the times that were spent at the family cottage in Victoria Beach, and especially loved the times that she spent together with her family. The tide recedes but leaves behind bright seashells on the sand. The sun goes down but gentle warmth still lingers on the land. The music stops and yet it echoes on in sweet refrain. For every Joy that passes, something beautiful remains. The family would like to thank Joys sisters Zella, Dorothy and Lori for their care and compassion over the past two years. We would also like to thank CancerCare Manitoba and the staff at Riverview Health Centre for their kindness and compassion. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, January 14 at 12:30 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Ave., R3E 0V9.
